    How to Play

    Loco Daily serves up a fresh set of four locomotive-themed puzzles every day. Work through each round, earn points based on how quickly you guess correctly, and build your streak by coming back each day. No account needed — your progress is saved automatically in your browser.

    The game consists of four rounds, each testing a different aspect of your railway knowledge:

    Shadow Spotter — A train is shown as a darkened silhouette. Pick the correct locomotive from four choices. You have three guesses: each wrong answer turns red and reveals a hint about the train, while the silhouette gradually becomes clearer. Earn 250 points on your first try, 150 on your second, or 75 on your third.

    Origin Express — Guess the country where a famous train originates. You start with one clue and get five attempts in total. Each wrong guess reveals an additional clue, but your score decreases with every miss. Type your answer or pick from the autocomplete suggestions.

    Era Express — You are given a fun fact about a train and four decades to choose from. Match the train to the decade it was introduced. This is a single-shot round — 250 points if you nail it, zero if you miss.

    Platform Vision — A photograph of a famous railway station is shown. Pick the correct station name from four options. You get three guesses, and wrong answers unlock text hints about the station. This round appears on most — but not all — puzzles.

    Your total score is tallied across all rounds, with a maximum of 1,000 points (or 1,300 when Platform Vision is included). Play every day to keep your streak alive, and share your results with friends using the share buttons that appear after completing a puzzle.

Inspired by the golden age of rail travel and the modern marvels of high-speed networks, each day brings a new set of four challenges that test your knowledge of the world's most iconic locomotives, railway routes, and stations.

    From the streamlined silhouette of the Japanese Shinkansen to the thundering presence of the Union Pacific Big Boy, every puzzle draws on the rich history and geography of railways spanning over 30 countries. The game features hand-crafted SVG silhouettes of 20 legendary trains, real station photography sourced from around the globe, and trivia covering everything from 19th-century steam pioneers to cutting-edge maglev technology.

    Loco Daily is completely free to play, requires no sign-up, and works on any device with a web browser. A new puzzle is released every day at midnight — come back daily to test your knowledge and build your streak. All aboard!
